Bred by Antoine Levet (père) (France, 1869). Discovered by Bishop's Lodge Heritage Rose Garden (Australia). Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1911 as 'Paul Neyron'. Found Rose, Hybrid Perpetual. Deep pink, darker shading. Moderate, opinions vary fragrance. 50 to 55 petals. Average diameter 6". Very large, very double, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped-to-flat, globular bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Tall, thornless (or almost), upright. Light green foliage. Height of 4' to 7' (120 to 215 cm). Width of 3' to 4' (90 to 120 cm). USDA zone 4b through 9b. Can be used for cut flower or garden. Very vigorous. Victor Verdier (Hybrid Perpetual, Lacharme, 1859) × Anna de Diesbach (hybrid perpetual, Lacharme, 1858) "Bishop's Lodge Sydney Linton" was named for the first Bishop of Riverina, Sydney Linton. It has the same sepal abnormality as 'Paul Neyron'.
